Our Firm

Stopher Haug & Todd Farrar established the law firm to provide quality legal representation while giving the personal attention that clients deserve and need. In 2017, Jonathan Franco joined the law firm as a partner so they could continue and expand upon that ideal. Learn more about the background of each through these links and through biographical descriptions below:

The firm focuses on personal injury, DUI and criminal defense, mediation services, civil litigation, workers’ compensation, divorces, child custody and support matters. Handling a wide range of legal issues, we focus primarily on injury law, criminal defense and family law. We are committed to providing honest and dedicated legal representation to every client.

Our Attorneys

Christopher “Stopher” Haug


Christopher C. “Stopher” Haug, is licensed to practice law in Mississippi, Alabama, and Florida. Stopher has over fourteen years of experience in representing clients in many areas of the law, ranging from general civil litigation to domestic and family law, personal injury, criminal law, as well as contract disputes and business formation and strategy.

Before partnering with Todd Farrar, Stopher owned his own law firm, The Haug Law Firm in Ocean Springs, MS, worked with two regional law firms in Mississippi and Alabama and served as in-house counsel for one of the largest companies in the Gulf South. He has tried cases in state and federal courts, and has extensive experience with mediations and arbitrations.

Stopher received his law degree from the Hugo L. Black School of Law at the University of Alabama in 2000 after earning his undergraduate degree from Mississippi State University in 1997. He is a graduate of Leadership Mississippi and currently serves as an Election Commissioner for the City of Ocean Springs, Mississippi, and as an executive board member of the 1699 Historical Society. Additionally, Stopher was Commodore of the Ocean Springs Yacht Club in 2017.

He and his wife, Lauren, reside in Ocean Springs with their three children, Nate, Nolan & Caroline, and their family dog, Teddy.

Todd Farrar


Todd Farrar is licensed to practice law in Mississippi and Louisiana. Todd has experience representing clients in many areas of law, including hundreds of cases related to serious injuries from car & trucking accidents, criminal defense of DUIs, misdemeanors and felonies, medical malpractice claims, and a wide range of serious personal injury matters.

Before partnering with Stopher Haug, Todd owned law firms in Ocean Springs, MS and Lafayette, LA. Todd also handled DUI and other criminal cases for the Public Defender’s office in Vermilion Parish, Louisiana. He has worked with some of the largest personal injury firms on the Mississippi Gulf Coast and serves as a mediator and trial lawyer for the firm.

Todd received his undergraduate degree from Mississippi State University and earned his Juris Doctor and Graduate Diploma in Civil Law from LSU’s Paul M. Hebert Law Center.

Todd and his wife, Amy, reside in downtown Ocean Springs with their children, Luke & Grace, and dog, Loui. When not in courtrooms all across the state, you may find Todd fishing, boating and sailing in the Mississippi Sound or finding forever homes for shelter dogs while volunteering with Friends of Jackson County Animal Shelter.

Jonathan Franco


Jonathan Franco joined the firm as a partner in July 2017. He was raised in Montgomery, Alabama and attended the University of Alabama, where he received his undergraduate degree in political science, with a minor in English. Jonathan went on to earn his law degree at Mississippi College School of Law in Jackson, Mississippi.

Before partnering with Haug & Farrar, Jonathan was a litigation associate at a well-respected Ocean Springs law firm, focusing primarily on personal injury, workers’ compensation and family law cases. He has tried personal injury and insurance dispute cases to verdict in both state and federal courts in Mississippi and has also received favorable judgments in complex, high asset divorce trials.

Jonathan resides with his wife Ashley Franco in Ocean Springs, is an avid football fan, and enjoys kayak fishing and boating. He is currently the past president of the Ocean Springs Rotary Club, which keeps him very active in the community. Jonathan was selected to the 2019 Mid South Super Lawyers Rising Stars. The Super Lawyers list recognizes no more than 5 percent of attorneys in each state. The Rising Stars list recognizes no more than 2.5 percent of attorneys in each state. To be eligible for inclusion in Rising Stars, a candidate must be either 40 years old or younger, or in practice for 10 years or less. Jonathan is active in Mississippi’s preeminent trial lawyer and personal injury lawyer association, the Mississippi Association for Justice (MAJ). Within MAJ, he serves on the Board of Governors representing the Jackson County Circuit Court division. He is currently the editor of MAJ’s annual publication, Voir Dire magazine. Jonathan is the 2018 recipient of MAJ’s “Rising Star” award given to a trial lawyer under 40 years of age who has excelled in personal injury litigation. Jonathan was also selected in 2019 to The National Trial Lawyers Top 40 Under 40 Civil Plaintiff attorney in the State of Mississippi. Invitees must exemplify superior qualifications, trial results, and leadership as a young lawyer under the age of 40.

Meet Our Staff

Samantha (“Sam”) Arnold

Sam has been with the firm since July 2020, and serves as legal administrative assistant to partner Stopher Haug. She received an Associate of Arts in Social Sciences from Northern Oklahoma College in 2018 and is pursuing a bachelor’s degree at the University of Southern Mississippi in Legal Studies and Political Science.

Originally from Oklahoma, Sam enjoys exploring everything the Gulf Coast has to offer with her husband, Shane.  When not out and about with her husband, Sam may be found at home crafting macrame décor with a warm cup of coffee and her cats, Eggy and Fishie.

Kristen Garvey


Kristen has been a paralegal with the firm since August 2017 and serves as paralegal to partner, Stopher Haug. She has over four years of experience in personal injury, worker’s compensation, wills and estates, and all aspects of family law. She received her associate’s degree in paralegal technology from Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College in 2012 and now primarily handles family law and corporate clients for the firm.

Kristen lives in Ocean Springs with her husband, Michael, and their 18-month old son, Hawkins. They love to travel and are always busy planning their next adventure.

Jennifer (“Jenny”) Hornby

Jenny has been with the firm since July 2020, and serves as a legal administrative assistant to partner Jonathan Franco. Prior to joining the Firm, Jenny worked as an administrative assistant in various industries for over 12 years.

Jenny is a native of San Diego and moved to Ocean Springs in December 2019 with her husband, Leroy, and their dog, Maxy Poo.  In her spare time, Jenny enjoys spending time with her family and friends, traveling, and attending music festivals.

Katelyn Reinchuck

Katelyn has been with the firm since September 2020, and serves as paralegal to partner Jonathan Franco. Katelyn completed the Paralegal Technology Program at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College and obtained her Paralegal Certification in May 2016. She has been a practicing litigation paralegal in various areas of law since June of 2016.

Katelyn is a Hancock County native and just recently relocated to Diamondhead with her fiancé, Matthew, and their two boys, Owen and Thomas. She loves spending her free time with her family, reading books, being active, cooking, and baking.

Rae Thompson


Rae has been with the firm since April 2018 and serves as paralegal to partner Todd Farrar. Rae has over 15 years of experience in civil litigation, including personal injury, product liability, medical malpractice, wrongful death claims, mass tort litigation and a variety of other practice areas. She is working towards completing her bachelor of science degree in legal studies and is active in the South Mississippi Legal Professional Association, which provides continuing legal education (CLE) for paralegals to stay updated on emerging trends and changes in the law.

Rae is new to the Mississippi Gulf Coast and lives in Gulfport with her husband, John, and their two dogs, Samson and Miah. She enjoys traveling to visit her children, grandchildren and extended family. Her passion is enriching communities through humanitarian outreach and support.
