Our Firm

Stopher Haug & Todd Farrar established the law firm to provide quality legal representation while giving the personal attention that clients deserve and need. In 2017, Jonathan Franco joined the law firm as a partner so they could continue and expand upon that ideal. The firm focuses on personal injury, DUI and criminal defense, mediation services, social security disability, civil litigation, workers' compensation, corporate counseling of business owners, board of directors and CEOs and divorces, child custody and support matters. Handling a wide range of legal issues, we focus primarily on injury law, criminal defense and family law. We are committed to providing honest and dedicated legal representation to every client.

Our Attorneys

Christopher "Stopher" Haug

Christopher C. "Stopher" Haug, is licensed to practice law in Mississippi, Alabama, and Florida. Stopher has over fourteen years of experience in representing clients in many areas of the law, ranging from general civil litigation to domestic and family law, personal injury, criminal law, as well as contract disputes and business formation and strategy.

Before partnering with Todd Farrar, Stopher owned his own law firm, The Haug Law Firm in Ocean Springs, MS, worked with two regional law firms in Mississippi and Alabama and served as in-house counsel for one of the largest companies in the Gulf South. He has tried cases in state and federal courts, and has extensive experience with mediations and arbitrations.

Stopher received his law degree from the Hugo L. Black School of Law at the University of Alabama in 2000 after earning his undergraduate degree from Mississippi State University in 1997. He is a graduate of Leadership Mississippi and currently serves as an Election Commissioner for the City of Ocean Springs, Mississippi, and as an executive board member of the 1699 Historical Society. Additionally, Stopher was Commodore of the Ocean Springs Yacht Club in 2017.

He and his wife, Lauren, reside in Ocean Springs with their three children, Nate, Nolan & Caroline, and their family dog, Teddy.

Todd Farrar

Todd Farrar is licensed to practice law in Mississippi and Louisiana. Todd has experience representing clients in many areas of law, including hundreds of cases related to serious injuries from car & trucking accidents, criminal defense of DUIs, misdemeanors and felonies, medical malpractice claims, and a wide range of serious personal injury matters.

Before partnering with Stopher Haug, Todd owned law firms in Ocean Springs, MS and Lafayette, LA. Todd also handled DUI and other criminal cases for the Public Defender's office in Vermilion Parish, Louisiana. He has worked with some of the largest personal injury firms on the Mississippi Gulf Coast and serves as a mediator and trial lawyer for the firm.

Todd received his undergraduate degree from Mississippi State University and earned his Juris Doctor and Graduate Diploma in Civil Law from LSU's Paul M. Hebert Law Center.

Todd and his wife, Amy, reside in downtown Ocean Springs with their son Luke and dog Loui. When not in courtrooms all across the state, you may find Todd fishing, boating and sailing in the Mississippi Sound or finding forever homes for shelter dogs while volunteering with Friends of Jackson County Animal Shelter.

Jonathan Franco

Jonathan Franco joined the firm as a partner in July 2017. He was raised in Montgomery, Alabama and attended the University of Alabama, where he received his undergraduate degree in political science, with a minor in English. Jonathan went on to earn his law degree at Mississippi College School of Law in Jackson, Mississippi.

​Before partnering with Haug & Farrar, Jonathan was a litigation associate at a well-respected Ocean Springs law firm, focusing primarily on personal injury, workers' compensation and family law cases. He has tried personal injury and insurance dispute cases to verdict in both state and federal courts in Mississippi and has also received favorable judgments in complex, high asset divorce trials. Jonathan has a passion for his work that is palpable and a skill for presenting cases to Mississippi juries that results in fair and reasonable verdicts.

Jonathan lives in Ocean Springs, is an avid football fan and enjoys kayak fishing and boating when he's not preparing for his next jury trial. He is currently the president elect of the Ocean Springs Rotary Club, which keeps him very active in the community. He is heavily involved in Mississippi's preeminent trial lawyer and personal injury lawyer association, the Mississippi Association for Justice (MAJ). Within MAJ, he serves on the Board of Governors representing the Jackson County Circuit Court division and is treasurer of the New Lawyers Division. Jonathan is the 2018 recipient of MAJ's "Rising Star" award given to a trial lawyer under 40 years of age who has excelled in personal injury litigation.

Meet Our Staff

Robyn Blackwell

Robyn

Robyn Blackwell has been with us since 2013 and serves as a paralegal and office manager for the firm. Robyn has over 14 years of legal experience in the practice areas of family law, personal injury, criminal law and general business litigation. She received her Associate's Degree from Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College in 2002.

She resides in Gulfport with her husband, Matt, two children, Alyssa and Lennon, and family dog, Fenway. Her family enjoys taking trips to Disney World and spending time watching their eldest daughter perform in her high school marching band, symphonic band and the Magnolia Concert Society Chamber Orchestra.

Kristen Garvey

Kristen

Kristen has been a paralegal with the firm since August 2017 and serves as paralegal to partner, Stopher Haug. She has over four years of experience in personal injury, worker's compensation, wills and estates, and all aspects of family law. She received her associate's degree in paralegal technology from Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College in 2012 and now primarily handles family law and corporate clients for the firm.

Kristen lives in Ocean Springs with her husband, Michael, and their two dogs, Bowie and Cooper. She and her husband love to travel and are always busy planning their next adventure.

Brenna Bukaty

Brenna

Brenna has been with the firm since November 2017 and serves as paralegal to partner, Jonathan Franco. Brenna has over 10 years of experience in a variety of areas of law and received her Associate's Degree from Marshall University in 2005.

She lives in Biloxi with her husband, Wayne, and their three dogs, Bella, Daisy & Lucy, and their cat, Gidget. Her biggest passion is traveling and seeing the world, however, she's also an LSU fan. Geaux Tigers!

Katie King

Katie

Katie has been with the firm since October of 2017, first as a receptionist and administrative assistant, and now as a paralegal. In addition to answering the phones and greeting clients, Katie is responsible for various office support tasks such as scheduling, calendaring and filing. She completed the Paralegal Technology Program at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College, earning her Associate of Applied Science Degree in May of 2018. She lives in Diamondhead and enjoys spending time outdoors with her dog, Bonnie, as well as hanging out with her friends and family.

Rae Thompson

Rae

Rae has been with the firm since April 2018 and serves as paralegal to partner Todd Farrar. Rae has over 15 years of experience in civil litigation, including personal injury, product liability, medical malpractice, wrongful death claims, mass tort litigation and a variety of other practice areas. She is working towards completing her bachelor of science degree in legal studies and is active in the South Mississippi Legal Professional Association, which provides continuing legal education (CLE) for paralegals to stay updated on emerging trends and changes in the law.

Rae is new to the Mississippi Gulf Coast and lives in Gulfport with her husband, John, and their two dogs, Samson and Miah. She enjoys traveling to visit her children, grandchildren and extended family. Her passion is enriching communities through humanitarian outreach and support.
